Good, not great, for the Lions: B-. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Lions never addressed offensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Reaching for Muhammad left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
LT Overton
In pick No. 17 they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Malik Muhammad
A premium they did not need to pay, Malik Muhammad a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
