Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: B-.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Rice has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick No. 1 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Laiatu Latu
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a problem off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick75 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at the 75th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
They read the board right and Sataoa Laumea was the payoff at pick 122. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
