The Giants spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

They are betting Crum proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Mustapha at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.
