Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB
The Cowboys did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

There is a lot to like until you notice offensive lineman is still a hole. The Cowboys never got to the one that mattered most.

The Henry Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Getting Haulcy where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 12th pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick31 Rnd1 Colton Hood
In No. 31 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick63 Rnd2 A.J. Haulcy
A tidy bit of business in slot 63, where A.J. Haulcy graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick112 Rnd4 Caden Curry
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 12 with a little surplus value in Caden Curry. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick150 Rnd5 Louis Moore
By-the-book stuff, Louis Moore at pick 150 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick177 Rnd5 Nadame Tucker
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Nadame Tucker in the 177th overall pick. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick215 Rnd6 Dane Key
Dane Key in pick No. 215 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick221 Rnd7 Robert Henry Jr.
A reach for Robert Henry Jr. in the Round 7 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick225 Rnd7 Jalen Huskey
Jalen Huskey at slot 225 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
