Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB FutureB
The Raiders did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Kedon Slovis at slot 243, a reach of 71 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Devonshire value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get an island corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
A straight-up fair deal on Payton Wilson at No. 44, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick58 Rnd2 Spencer Rattler
They paid a round early for Spencer Rattler in pick No. 58, more than the board wanted. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick77 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
They paid sticker price for Jaylen Wright in slot 77, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick91 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Brenden Rice. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick116 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson at pick 116 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Pick147 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at the 147th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick196 Rnd6 M.J. Devonshire
Quietly one of the better values of the day, M.J. Devonshire at pick No. 196. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick210 Rnd6 Nathan Thomas
By-the-book stuff, Nathan Thomas at No. 210 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick216 Rnd6 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens in the Round 6 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick221 Rnd7 Javontae Jean-Baptiste
They liked Javontae Jean-Baptiste enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 221. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick225 Rnd7 Trey Knox
They paid up for Trey Knox at slot 225 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick227 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
A premium they did not need to pay, Kimani Vidal a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick243 Rnd7 Kedon Slovis
They reached into another round for Kedon Slovis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
