You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Browns did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

Everything downstream of Fernando Mendoza depends on Fernando Mendoza, and the building knows it. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Scott pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The cost of the Chaplin reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
