Draft Grade — Browns
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA
The Browns robbed the room for Slaughter. Final grade: D.

Somebody took the Browns to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Bisontis reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Slaughter falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Browns clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
Spencer Fano at the Round 1 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick29 Rnd1 Chris Bell
In the 29th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37 Rnd2 Isaiah World
By-the-book stuff, Isaiah World at slot 37 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick61 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
They will replay Jake Slaughter at pick No. 61 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick62 Rnd2 Ja'Kobi Lane
They read the board right and Ja'Kobi Lane was the payoff at No. 62. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kamari Ramsey
The board fumbled Kamari Ramsey all the way to pick 68, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick94 Rnd3 Sam Leavitt
Nice patience on Sam Leavitt, who had no business lasting to the 94th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick103 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Chase Bisontis well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick145 Rnd5 Tacario Davis
Somehow Tacario Davis was still sitting there in No. 145, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick146 Rnd5 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Ar'maj Reed-Adams in the 146th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick148 Rnd5 Chase Roberts
They paid sticker price for Chase Roberts in pick No. 148, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick169 Rnd5 Zane Durant
A reach for Zane Durant in slot 169; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick192 Rnd6 Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III at the Round 6 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick204 Rnd6 Rasheem Biles
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Rasheem Biles. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick241 Rnd7 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan in the 241st pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
