Draft Grade — Browns

FutureA
Nobody dealt better than the Browns this weekend: A-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Browns reached some 34 spots for Will Howard, and value like that does not grow back. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Landing Warren that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bernhard Raimann gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Bottom line, with Walter Nolen leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In the 14th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A real need, handled.
Pick33
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
A slide stopped in No. 33, with Nick Emmanwori worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick45
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick 45 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick67
Rnd3
Will Howard
They reached a country mile for Will Howard at the Round 3 slot, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
No edge and no loss on Cam Skattebo in slot 94; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick104
Rnd4
Jalen Milroe
Nice patience on Jalen Milroe, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 2. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick179
Rnd6
Chase Lundt
The board had Chase Lundt higher than the 179th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick192
Rnd6
CJ West
Good price on CJ West in the Round 6 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Pick200
Rnd6
Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in the 200th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick216
Rnd6
Alijah Huzzie
A straight-up fair deal on Alijah Huzzie at slot 216, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick255
Rnd7
Cody Lindenberg
Cody Lindenberg at Round 7, Pick 39 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
