Draft Grade — Eagles

Larceny in pick 120 lands the Eagles a B, James and all.

When a board-topper like DJ James slides to the 120th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Trotter Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders slipping to pick 50 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
Pick53 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
A conviction pick on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at slot 53 that the board grades a round light. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick120 Rnd4 DJ James
DJ James at No. 120 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick161 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Value with a capital V on Kitan Oladapo in pick No. 161, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick171 Rnd5 Walter Rouse
They read the board right and Walter Rouse was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick172 Rnd5 Isaiah Davis
Nice patience on Isaiah Davis, who had no business lasting to the 172nd overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick210 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at the 210th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
