Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesC FutureB+
A solid, sensible weekend for the Cardinals: B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cardinals reached some 26 spots for Nathaniel Watson, and value like that does not grow back.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Beebe. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 5 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick25 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In No. 25 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In the 27th overall pick they get an island corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick66 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick90 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at slot 90 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick104 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
A real head-scratcher, Isaac Guerendo in Round 4, Pick 4 is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick138 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at Round 5, Pick 2 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick162 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
They reached into another round for Jordan Jefferson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick186 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Nathaniel Watson. The roster fit checks out.
Pick226 Rnd7 Dominique Hampton
Dominique Hampton in the Round 7 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It adds depth where they could use a little.
