Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureA-
The Cardinals got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The phones were a trap the Cardinals kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Neyor value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Cardinals paired the rookies with proven help, Bijan Robinson leading the way.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In pick No. 8 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick32 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. in the 32nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick35 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
By-the-book stuff, Chris Braswell at pick 35 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick61 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Nothing to complain about; Ja'Tavion Sanders went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick66 Rnd3 Mekhi Wingo
A straight-up fair deal on Mekhi Wingo at No. 66, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick95 Rnd3 Marist Liufau
They read the board right and Marist Liufau was the payoff at the 95th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick140 Rnd5 James Williams
James Williams slid further than he should have, and Round 5, Pick 4 is lovely value for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick145 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
Fair-plus on Nehemiah Pritchett, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick188 Rnd6 Ethan Driskell
Ethan Driskell in slot 188 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick189 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at the 189th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick225 Rnd7 Isaiah Neyor
A quiet steal in Round 7, Pick 5: Isaiah Neyor for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick227 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
Steele Chambers at pick 227 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
