Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B+
ValueB NeedA- TradesA FutureB-
Leonard should have been long gone. The Cardinals pounced, and earned a B+.

Thirty-one other rooms let Riley Leonard slide, and the Cardinals were the ones holding the card at the 100th pick. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Strong has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Will Campbell
Will Campbell at pick No. 4 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick37 Rnd2 Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson is a better player than the 37th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick68 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
Nothing to complain about; Tate Ratledge went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick100 Rnd4 Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard in the 100th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick101 Rnd4 Brant Kuithe
They did well to land Brant Kuithe in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick132 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. in pick 132 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick164 Rnd6 Dane Key
Dane Key in slot 164 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick196 Rnd7 Dorian Strong
Dorian Strong at No. 196 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
