Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall

FutureB+
Larceny in pick No. 153 lands the Cardinals a B, Phillips and all. Somebody in Round 5, Pick 14 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cardinals sat still while Jordan Phillips, the No. 112 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
Every board in the league had Skattebo lower, and that gap is the story. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In the 22nd overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick47
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick No. 47 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick81
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
A wild overpay on Cam Skattebo in Round 3, Pick 17, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick114
Rnd4
Donovan Jackson
You do not let an offensive lineman like Donovan Jackson reach the 114th pick and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick153
Rnd5
Jordan Phillips
The board fumbled Jordan Phillips all the way to slot 153, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick193
Rnd6
Ricky White III
Ricky White III in the Round 6 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
