Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Cardinals finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cardinals shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

They have staked the next five years on Dante Moore, which is the only story that really matters here. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Rodriguez reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Dante Moore
In the 5th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Caleb Lomu
Caleb Lomu in No. 33 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick36 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Olaivavega Ioane. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jonah Coleman
A running back of that caliber at pick No. 65 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick67 Rnd3 A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington slid further than he should have, and the 67th pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick102 Rnd4 Zakee Wheatley
They will replay Zakee Wheatley at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez at pick 144 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick185 Rnd6 Rayshaun Benny
Rayshaun Benny in Round 6, Pick 4 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd7 Malik Hartford
Malik Hartford at No. 219 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
