The Cardinals finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cardinals started one anyway for Devin Culp, 78 picks ahead of schedule.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They have staked the next five years on J.J. McCarthy, which is the only story that really matters here. Getting Rice where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
