Draft Grade — Jets
Overall

FutureB+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Jets to a D. The Aidan Keanaaina pick is the one that will follow the Jets into the fall. They took him 314 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
On value alone, Taylor makes the weekend a net positive. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Elijah Roberts
In slot 23 they get a bendy edge with upside, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick42
Rnd2
Aeneas Peebles
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Aeneas Peebles well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jalen Milroe
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jalen Milroe. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick69
Rnd3
Giles Jackson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Giles Jackson this early at the Round 3 slot. The roster fit checks out.
Pick73
Rnd3
Aidan Keanaaina
They reached a country mile for Aidan Keanaaina at pick No. 73, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick110
Rnd4
Kobe King
Kobe King at Round 4, Pick 8 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick144
Rnd5
Sevion Morrison
Sevion Morrison at pick 144 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick145
Rnd5
Ozzy Trapilo
Taking Ozzy Trapilo in Round 5, Pick 7 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick162
Rnd5
LaJohntay Wester
They reached into another round for LaJohntay Wester, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick186
Rnd6
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick207
Rnd6
Dante Trader Jr.
Dante Trader Jr. in pick No. 207 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
