Draft Grade — Giants
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Giants found their guy under center in Sanders: C+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Cam Ward slide 240 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

If Hudson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
By-the-book stuff, Shedeur Sanders at Round 1, Pick 3 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick34 Rnd2 Mykel Williams
They read the board right and Mykel Williams was the payoff at slot 34. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65 Rnd3 Kobe Hudson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kobe Hudson in pick No. 65, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick99 Rnd3 Ja'Quinden Jackson
Ja'Quinden Jackson at slot 99 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Mac McWilliams
A real head-scratcher, Mac McWilliams in Round 4, Pick 3 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick154 Rnd5 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in No. 154 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick219 Rnd7 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at pick 219 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick246 Rnd7 Cam Ward
Circle this one: Cam Ward at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
