Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Cardinals let Abney II fall and pounced. Final grade: D.

The Cardinals lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The Abney II pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

The veteran additions, Pat Freiermuth chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 12th pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick20 Rnd1 Makai Lemon
In the 20th overall pick they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick43 Rnd2 Gennings Dunker
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Gennings Dunker at Round 2, Pick 11. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick51 Rnd2 Caleb Lomu
Caleb Lomu at No. 51 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick74 Rnd3 Darrell Jackson Jr.
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Darrell Jackson Jr. worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick113 Rnd4 Keith Abney II
Keith Abney II at pick No. 113 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick152 Rnd5 Bray Hubbard
Somehow Bray Hubbard was still sitting there in the 152nd pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick190 Rnd6 Taylen Green
They let Taylen Green come to them and pounced at the 190th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick224 Rnd7 Quintrevion Wisner
Quintrevion Wisner in pick No. 224 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
