The Cardinals drew a line under the quarterback search with Mendoza: B+. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cardinals reached some 90 spots for Nadame Tucker, and value like that does not grow back. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
So much rides on Fernando Mendoza that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. McDonald at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
