The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cardinals reached some 84 spots for Bryce Boettcher, and value like that does not grow back. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

The Slaughter pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The veteran additions, Tristan Wirfs chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
