Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cardinals: B.

Priorities are a choice, and the Cardinals made a strange one, taking Maason Smith at DT-EDGE in No. 93 with interior defensive lineman crying out for the pick instead.

Getting Amegadjie where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick30 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In slot 30 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35 Rnd2 Quinyon Mitchell
Good price on Quinyon Mitchell in No. 35, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick66 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
A slide stopped in the 66th pick, with Kiran Amegadjie worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick90 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Nice patience on Cooper Beebe, who had no business lasting to the Round 3 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick93 Rnd3 Maason Smith
Of all the spots to shop, they chose DT-EDGE. Maason Smith in pick 93 leaves interior defensive lineman for later.
Pick104 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 4 with a little surplus value in Blake Fisher. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick130 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis in pick No. 130 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick133 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
By-the-book stuff, Cedric Gray at the 133rd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick140 Rnd5 MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd in Round 5, Pick 4 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick188 Rnd6 Ethan Driskell
Ethan Driskell in slot 188 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick225 Rnd7 Jha'Quan Jackson
Jha'Quan Jackson at pick No. 225 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick227 Rnd7 Brevyn Spann-Ford
They did well to land Brevyn Spann-Ford in the 227th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
