Draft Grade — Cardinals

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cardinals and McGlothern: B. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Dwight McGlothern got past him. The Cardinals do not have to explain a thing at the 186th pick.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In pick No. 4 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get an island corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick35
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Guyton in No. 35. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick66
Rnd3
Bralen Trice
Good price on Bralen Trice in the Round 3 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick71
Rnd3
Cade Stover
Cade Stover in slot 71 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick90
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at the 90th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick104
Rnd4
Christian Mahogany
Nothing to complain about; Christian Mahogany went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick138
Rnd5
Isaac Guerendo
A tidy bit of business in the 138th overall pick, where Isaac Guerendo graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick162
Rnd5
Tommy Eichenberg
The board had Tommy Eichenberg higher than Round 5, Pick 26, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick186
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
Steal is underselling it; Dwight McGlothern at pick 186 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick226
Rnd7
Nathaniel Watson
A slide stopped in pick No. 226, with Nathaniel Watson worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
