The phones sank the Broncos this weekend: D-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Broncos did exactly that with Jared Wiley in the 233rd overall pick. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will answer for taking cornerback early while interior defensive lineman went begging. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
