The 49ers cashed the board's mistake on Johnson: D.

The 49ers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Cornelius Johnson, the No. 188 name on the board, in the 251st overall pick. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Brownlee Jr. pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots still on the board.

Quantity was the play, for better or worse.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
