Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA- FutureA
The Bears bet the future on Williams. The board says B+.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

The Worthy reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Jones at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Adding Trey Smith by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value.
Pick32 Rnd1 Xavier Worthy
In pick No. 32 they get a true top target, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice at slot 64 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick75 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
The board had Kiran Amegadjie higher than the Round 3 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick122 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
No edge and no loss on Ben Sinnott in No. 122; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick132 Rnd4 Elijah Jones
A slide stopped in the 132nd pick, with Elijah Jones worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
