The Drake Nugent selection is the head-turner. The Bears reached 32 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Landing Melton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
