Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. The final tally is a middling C-.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Reaching for Frazier left real value on the table behind him. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The veteran additions, Jerry Jeudy chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

So much rides on Caleb Williams that the real verdict is a season or two away.
