Maye is the plan now, and the Commanders grade out a D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Commanders did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

Reaching for Wilson left real value on the table behind him. So much rides on Drake Maye that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
