Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC FutureA+
The Jets checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

Nobody else had Charles Jagusah anywhere near No. 101. The Jets did, by 24 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Miller steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In slot 8 they get a two-high chess piece at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 CJ Allen
They liked CJ Allen enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 33. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick39 Rnd2 Christen Miller
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Christen Miller at No. 39. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick101 Rnd4 Charles Jagusah
A big swing on Charles Jagusah at the 101st overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick140 Rnd4 Derrick Moore
Derrick Moore at the 140th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick200 Rnd6 Raylen Wilson
They paid sticker price for Raylen Wilson in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick201 Rnd6 Dane Key
Dane Key slid further than he should have, and the 201st pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick236 Rnd7 Brett Norfleet
Brett Norfleet in the 236th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick256 Rnd7 Dijon Johnson
No edge and no loss on Dijon Johnson in slot 256; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick257 Rnd7 Rico Flores Jr.
Rico Flores Jr. at pick 257 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It fills a real need, too.
