Hill Jr. should have been long gone. The Chiefs pounced, and earned a B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Anthony Hill Jr., the No. 15 name on the board, stolen at Round 2, Pick 28.

The cost of the Leigh reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a bell-cow for the offense at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick60 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
They barely believed it either: Anthony Hill Jr. still on the board at the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick92 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley in pick 92 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick109 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
They took Domani Jackson at par in No. 109, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick167 Rnd5 Earnest Greene III
No drama and no debate, Earnest Greene III went about where he belonged in slot 167. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick203 Rnd6 Lander Barton
Circle this one: Lander Barton at the 203rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick206 Rnd6 Tristan Leigh
They reached a country mile for Tristan Leigh at the 206th pick, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick212 Rnd6 Brett Norfleet
Brett Norfleet at pick No. 212 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick257 Rnd7 Marquis Johnson
Nice patience on Marquis Johnson, who had no business lasting to the 257th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
