The Chiefs let Davis fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Chiefs were there to profit. Tacario Davis, the No. 108 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 132. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
It is not that Davis is a bad player; it is that the Chiefs had louder needs to answer first. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Zuhn III pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
