TOMM DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
Neal should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B-. Thirty-one other rooms let Devin Neal slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at Round 4, Pick 22. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They will need Savaiinaea to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Jonah Savaiinaea
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get protection for the quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick54
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Tyler Warren in pick No. 54, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick87
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
A conviction pick on Zy Alexander at the 87th overall pick that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick124
Rnd4
Devin Neal
Devin Neal in the 124th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick159
Rnd5
Elijah Roberts
They talked themselves into Elijah Roberts at No. 159, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick198
Rnd6
Luke Elzinga
They paid a round early for Luke Elzinga in slot 198, more than the board wanted. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick237
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
Taking Caleb Ransaw in pick 237 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick250
Rnd7
Sam Brown Jr.
Sam Brown Jr. at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
