The Patriots did not so much draft Gino Garcia as overpay for him, 85 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Dotson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
