A costly weekend of dealing drags the Panthers to a D-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: JD Bertrand in Round 5, Pick 29, a good 46 spots before the room expected him. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Tampa.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.
