Draft Grade — Titans

FutureC
The Titans robbed the room for Washington. Final grade: B. The Titans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tahj Washington fell into No. 227.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If Okie-Anoma pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims in pick 26 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick38
Rnd2
Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
No drama and no debate, Ennis Rakestraw Jr. went about where he belonged in slot 38. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick63
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman in the 63rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick131
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Good price on Cedric Gray in Round 4, Pick 31, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Pick166
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They read the board right and Kitan Oladapo was the payoff at No. 166. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick193
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden at pick No. 193 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick220
Rnd6
Julian Pearl
A reasonable price with a little left over, Julian Pearl in the Round 6 slot. Where it fits the depth chart is the real question.
Pick227
Rnd7
Tahj Washington
They barely believed it either: Tahj Washington still on the board at the 227th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick237
Rnd7
Eyabi Okie-Anoma
Value said wait; Eyabi Okie-Anoma in slot 237 says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick242
Rnd7
Trevin Wallace
They did well to land Trevin Wallace in the 242nd pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
