The board owed the Titans one, and it paid up: Dwight McGlothern, the No. 175 name on the board, sitting there at the 210th pick like a gift left on the doorstep. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Reaching for Bortolini left real value on the table behind him.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
