Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB
FutureB-
The Bears won the night they stopped Anderson from sliding. Grade: B. The Bears did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Nic Anderson fell into the 110th overall pick. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Monheim pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
By-the-book stuff, Jack Sawyer at the 20th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick41
Rnd2
Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa at No. 41 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick52
Rnd2
Walter Nolen
A tidy bit of business in the 52nd pick, where Walter Nolen graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick84
Rnd3
Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp is a better player than pick No. 84 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick88
Rnd3
Clay Webb
A straight-up fair deal on Clay Webb at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick110
Rnd4
Nic Anderson
Nic Anderson in slot 110 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick116
Rnd4
Rylie Mills
Rylie Mills in pick 116 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jonah Monheim
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jonah Monheim in Round 4, Pick 24, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
