The Patrick Payton selection is the head-turner. The Browns reached 85 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Getting Coleman where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

The trade work was a quiet net positive.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
