Neal should have been long gone. The 49ers pounced, and earned a B.

Somebody in pick 193 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Devin Neal, the No. 88 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Reaching for Griffith left real value on the table behind him. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
