The rest of the league had time to spare on Frank Gore Jr.; the Bears did not wait, grabbing him 53 spots ahead at the 112th overall pick.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Dallas Turner and all.
