CAMARONCHEESEMAN54 DRAFTING FOR THECommanders

Draft Grade — Commanders

FutureB+
The Commanders worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+. Nobody had Jordan Jefferson this high, and it is not close. The Commanders reached 40 spots to get him at pick 141. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Burton steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In pick 17 they get a disruptor off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick18
Rnd1
JC Latham
In pick No. 18 they get a blindside protector at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
They left a pile of value on the table to take Edgerrin Cooper this early at the 36th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick40
Rnd2
Chop Robinson
Fair-plus on Chop Robinson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton in the 67th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick78
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
A reach on Sedrick Van Pran in No. 78; the board had better options right there. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick100
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102
Rnd4
Malik Washington
Malik Washington in pick No. 102 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick141
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jordan Jefferson in No. 141, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick181
Rnd6
Josh Proctor
By-the-book stuff, Josh Proctor at slot 181 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick223
Rnd7
Trevor Keegan
They liked Trevor Keegan enough to skip the value, taking him in the 223rd pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
