Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bills: B-.

The tape said wait; the Bills did not. Germie Bernard went at slot 204, a good 84 picks before the board was ready. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They banked enough surplus on Winston Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In slot 29 they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyleik Williams in pick No. 61. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick62 Rnd2 David Bailey
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for David Bailey. The roster fit checks out.
Pick107 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at No. 107. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick130 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
They will replay Barrett Carter at pick 130 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick169 Rnd5 Kevin Winston Jr.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Kevin Winston Jr. in the 169th pick, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick172 Rnd5 Sonny Styles
Taking Sonny Styles in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick178 Rnd6 Jaylin Smith
Value said wait; Jaylin Smith in the 178th overall pick says they were not listening. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick204 Rnd6 Germie Bernard
They talked themselves into Germie Bernard at pick 204, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jared Wilson
No edge and no loss on Jared Wilson in Round 6, Pick 31; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
