More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B to prove it. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bills spent the Round 5 slot on Kendall Milton, a name most had 38 spots down the list.
They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
No drama and no debate, Zach Frazier went about where he belonged in the 60th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick87
Rnd3
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in slot 87 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick128
Rnd4
McKinnley Jackson
A tidy little value on McKinnley Jackson in pick No. 128, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick134
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at pick 134 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jarrian Jones
They did well to land Jarrian Jones in Round 5, Pick 8, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick160
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson in the 160th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kendall Milton
They reached into another round for Kendall Milton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick196
Rnd6
Jaylen Harrell
A reach for Jaylen Harrell in slot 196; a little patience would have been rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick204
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
A reach on Caedan Wallace in No. 204; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick248
Rnd7
Bub Means
Bub Means in pick No. 248 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
