Draft Grade — Bills

The Bills found their guy under center in Gabriel: C-. It is the swing that defines the weekend: David Walker in Round 1, Pick 3, a good 168 spots before the room expected him. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C-.
So much rides on Dillon Gabriel that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Hairston pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at linebacker, offensive lineman and other spots.
Hit on Dillon Gabriel and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Trey Amos
In the 1st pick they get an island corner, though the board says they badly overpaid. Need was not the driver here.
Pick2
Rnd1
Maxwell Hairston
A want over a need in pick 2: Maxwell Hairston adds a cornerback while linebacker, offensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick3
Rnd1
David Walker
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick4
Rnd1
Dillon Gabriel
In the 4th overall pick they get the face of the franchise, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
