Peterson should have been long gone. The Buccaneers pounced, and earned a B-.

The Buccaneers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and A'Marion Peterson fell into the 235th overall pick.

Williams has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Tight end was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 A.J. Harris
In the 22nd pick they get a ballhawk on the outside, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick86 Rnd3 Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp in pick No. 86 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick122 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tacario Davis in pick 122. It fills a real need, too.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jackson Arnold
They read the board right and Jackson Arnold was the payoff at Round 5, Pick 23. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick200 Rnd6 James Williams
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for James Williams. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick235 Rnd7 A'Marion Peterson
A'Marion Peterson in No. 235 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
