Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureD
Nobody dealt better than the Buccaneers this weekend: B.

Whoever sat across the table from the Buccaneers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

If Roberts pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. It is not that Stutsman is a bad player; it is that the Buccaneers had louder needs to answer first.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Shavon Revel Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary. A real need, handled.
Pick33 Rnd2 Mike Green
A clean, defensible pick in No. 33 with a little surplus value in Mike Green. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick84 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
A tidy little value on Barrett Carter in the 84th pick, a step better than break-even. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick94 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Danny Stutsman adds a linebacker and leaves offensive lineman, running back and other spots untouched.
Pick121 Rnd4 Riley Leonard
They jumped the gun on Riley Leonard, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick157 Rnd5 Elijah Roberts
Elijah Roberts in Round 5, Pick 19 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick228 Rnd7 CJ Dippre
They paid up for CJ Dippre at pick No. 228 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick235 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson at slot 235 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick244 Rnd7 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Fair-plus on Jamon Dumas-Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
