Draft Grade — Buccaneers

FutureB
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Buccaneers a B+. The Buccaneers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The Jamison-Travis reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. It is not that Rodriguez is a bad player; it is that the Buccaneers had louder needs to answer first.
Landing Roberts that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Colton Hood
In the 18th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick46
Rnd2
CJ Allen
A quiet steal in pick No. 46: CJ Allen for less than the market said. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick77
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went linebacker with Jacob Rodriguez while clear needs at tight end, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Pick116
Rnd4
De'Zhaun Stribling
Nothing to complain about; De'Zhaun Stribling went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick155
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
By-the-book stuff, Beau Stephens at Round 5, Pick 15 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick195
Rnd6
Bobby Jamison-Travis
Bobby Jamison-Travis at pick 195 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick229
Rnd7
Chase Roberts
Chase Roberts slid further than he should have, and slot 229 is lovely value for the wide receiver. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
