Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Buccaneers for Allen: B.

Every other box got a look, but interior defensive lineman did not. The Buccaneers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They are betting Kearney proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 A.J. Harris
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value.
Pick54 Rnd2 CJ Allen
CJ Allen in pick 54 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick86 Rnd3 R Mason Thomas
Nothing to complain about; R Mason Thomas went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick122 Rnd4 Roderick Kearney
A reach on Roderick Kearney in pick No. 122; the board had better options right there. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick161 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
The board had Davison Igbinosun higher than the 161st pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick164 Rnd5 Desmond Reid
Desmond Reid slipping to slot 164 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
