Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Darius Alexander got past him. The Buccaneers do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 157.

The Winston Jr. pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with offensive lineman, tight end and other spots still on the board. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Hairston has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
