FutureB+
The Buccaneers worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+. Nobody had Xavian Sorey Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Buccaneers reached 102 spots to get him at slot 200. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They banked enough surplus on Slaughter to cover a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Mark Andrews gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
A.J. Harris
In pick No. 26 they get a ballhawk on the outside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter in Round 2, Pick 22 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick86
Rnd3
David Bailey
David Bailey slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
Pick200
Rnd6
Xavian Sorey Jr.
Xavian Sorey Jr. at the 200th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick235
Rnd7
Zen Michalski
Zen Michalski at No. 235 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
